Aataentsic
Aataentsic is the Huron (Wyandot) version of the Sky Woman, the first mother of creation. According to Huron tradition, she lived in the Sky Land until the chief's daughter (also called Aataentsic in some versions) fell through a hole created when the wild apple tree was uprooted. Swans caught her and placed her on the Great Turtle's back. The animals dove for earth, and Old Toad succeeded where larger animals failed, bringing up grains of earth in her mouth.
