Àbíkú are Yoruba spirits believed to die in childhood, return to their mothers, and be reborn repeatedly, embodying the cycle between the ancestral realm and earthly life. Families respond with protective rituals, iron ornaments, and names that flatter or mock the child, hoping to break the cycle of death and return in West African cosmology.
