Abonsam is a malevolent spirit from the traditional beliefs of the Akan people of Ghana and the Gold Coast region of West Africa. The name derives from Akan terms denoting evil thrown about in disorder, referring to a malevolent force that embodies fundamental opposition to moral and social harmony.
