Ah Puch
Ah Puch is the Mayan god of death, darkness, and disaster, also known as Cizin, Kisin, Yum Cimil, or Hunhau among various Maya groups. He rules over Mitnal, the lowest and most terrifying level of the Mayan underworld, a place of fear where souls of the wicked are tortured. Mayans were notably more fearful of death than other Mesoamerican cultures, and Ah Puch was envisioned as a hunting figure that stalked the houses of people who were injured or sick. He is associated with owls, dogs, bats, vultures, scorpions, and spiders, and is closely allied with the gods of war, disease, and sacrifice,
