Ahoeitu is the legendary first Tu'i Tonga (sacred king of Tonga), founder of the dynasty that ruled Tonga for over a thousand years. Born to a Tongan chiefess and the god Eitumatupua, who descended from heaven on a great tree, Ahoeitu was of both divine and mortal parentage.
