Airavata
Airavata is the divine white elephant of Hindu myth, mount of Indra, born from the churning of the ocean of milk. Described with four tusks, seven trunks (or three heads/six tusks), pristine white skin. Guards Svarga's entrance, controls rain clouds. Appears in Ramayana, Mahabharata, Bhagavad Gita (10.27), Puranas. Known as Erawan in Thai/Lao tradition, on royal flags.
