Akhal-Teke Horse Spirit
The Akhal-Teke horse spirit embodies Turkmenistan's national horse, a breed some 3,000 years old: metallic golden coat, serpentine neck, lean build. Traditionally spiritually bonded to its rider, it can cross 300 miles of Karakum Desert without water, guided by ancestral spirits, and is treated as a family member. Chinese records called them 'Heavenly Horses' said to 'sweat blood' from thin skin.
