Akkarmora

guardian · Norway · Nordic

'Akkarmora' is not attested in Norwegian folklore. Web research and Norwegian folk-belief records show no sea-guardian of this name; the entry appears invented from 'akkar' (Norwegian for squid/octopus) plus 'mora' (mother). Genuine Nordic sea beliefs include the Kraken and the hafgufa, and the draug of the sea, but no Måsøy 'squid mother' legend is documented.
