Al-Mahrouq

jinn · Tunisia · North Africa

Not independently attested in folklore literature. The Arabic name means 'the Burned One', but no Tunisian source records a jinn by this name and the cited references do not mention it. Jinn are genuine figures of Tunisian and Islamic belief, beings created from smokeless fire, but they are unnamed or bear attested names such as Aisha Kandisha of Maghrebi tradition.
