Anansi
Anansi, called Kwaku Ananse, is the spider trickster of the Akan and Ashanti peoples of Ghana, a small creature who overcomes mighty foes by wit. In the best-known tale he wins the sky god Nyame's stories by capturing the python Onini, the hornets Mmoboro, the leopard Osebo, and the dwarf Mmoatia, after which all tales are called anansesem.
