Areop-Enap
Areop-Enap is the primordial spider creator in Nauruan creation mythology. In the beginning, Areop-Enap existed alone in darkness on an endless sea. Searching for food, he found an enormous clam that swallowed him. Inside the darkness, he discovered two snails. He slept three days transferring his power to each snail, then sent the smaller snail to open the clam, leaving a phosphorescent trail. In the light, he found a white worm called Rigi. Areop-Enap cast a strength spell on Rigi to pry open the clam. The clam died from the effort, and Areop-Enap made the lower shell into Earth and the uppe
