Asiman
The asiman is the living vampire-witch of Fon and Ewe tradition, documented in Dahomey (now Benin) and shared with neighboring West African peoples. An ordinary-looking woman by day, at night she leaves her body to fly as a corpse-candle or ball of light, drains the blood of sleeping victims, and takes animal form after feeding. She is destroyed only in that animal form.
