Atea
Atea ('Light', 'The Expanse') is the Marquesan sky deity who, separating himself from Tanaoa the god of Darkness and Silence, drove the dark back and created space for the world. He took the dawn goddess Atanua as his wife, and from their union descended the host of Marquesan gods and, through them, the first humans.
