The Baccoo is a mischievous dwarf-like spirit from Barbadian (and Guyanese) folklore that is captured and kept by humans to bring wealth and prosperity. Usually contained in a corked rum bottle or kept in the attic, the Baccoo must be fed a steady diet of milk and bananas to remain cooperative. If starved or neglected, it becomes a violent poltergeist, throwing objects and causing mayhem throughout the home.
