The badger is not a Haida crest or spirit figure; Haida lineages belong to the Raven and Eagle moieties, and crests include the bear, killer whale (Sgaana), and wolf. No Haida source records a badger nature-spirit; the genuine supernatural beings of Haida tradition are the beings of these crests and their stories.
