Badger Spirit of Aztec
Not independently attested in folklore literature. The badger appears in no Aztec source and is absent from the tonalpohualli day signs; tlazolteotl is a goddess of filth and purification, not a badger spirit. Genuine Aztec animal-spirit concepts, the tonal and the nagual, attach to attested animals such as the jaguar, eagle, dog, and monkey.
