Not independently attested in folklore literature. No Burmese source records a ghost named 'Bama Dat'; Burmese terms for the dead are thaye (ghosts/corpses) and the nat cult. Burmese belief does include restless dead, but the name appears fabricated, likely a garbling of nat-related categories.
