Bean Sídhe
The bean sí (banshee) is the female death-spirit of Irish tradition whose wailing, keening cry foretells a death in the family; her name means 'woman of the fairy mounds' (sídhe). Long-haired and often seen combing her hair, she is attached to particular old families.
