No specific Mapuche bear ancestor-spirit is attested; the original description was a copy-paste of the Irish banshee. Genuine Mapuche beings include the ngen, spirit-owners of nature (ngen-kulliñ owns the animals), the Pillan, ancestral volcano and thunder spirits, and the malevolent wekufe.
