Not independently attested in folklore literature. 'Bears' is a generic label rather than a named being, and the entry invents a Chinook bear-spirit guardian with no specific tale or named tradition. Bears do appear in real Pacific Northwest oral traditions — as clan figures and Transformer-era characters — but no such generalized spirit is documented for the Chinook.
