Zangbeto is a spirit from Beninese Folklore mythology. These towering figures made of raffia and palm fibers spin through villages at night, serving as the eyes of justice in the darkness. According to tradition, Zangbetos are living vessels of ancestral spirits. Believers maintain that no human is inside the raffia structure, only spirit. They function as an unofficial spiritual police force, guarding against thieves and witches. The Zangbeto's hypnotic spinning is believed to cleanse the community of evil
