Bhand
Not independently attested in folklore literature as a ghost. Bhand (from Sanskrit bhanda, 'jester') names the traditional folk-entertainer communities of South Asia — jesters, mimics, and storytellers, including the satirical Bhand Pather theatre of Kashmir — not a vengeful spirit. The ghost narrative is fabricated; the genuine analogues are the bhoot and churail.
