Bison are absent from Aztec cosmology, and the entry grafts a bison spirit onto the tonal/nagual animal-companion beliefs recorded in sources like the Florentine Codex. Real Aztec animal spirits and deities — including the nagual shapeshifting and gods' animal forms — never include bison.
