Not independently attested in folklore literature. Bison never occurred in the Andes, and the claim that they did is false; the bison spirit set among Quechua apu mountain spirits and huaca shrines is invented. Genuine Quechua animal guides and mountain/earth powers exist, but none is a bison being.
