Blue Jay Iqesqes Chinook
Iqesqes, the Blue Jay, is the trickster hero of Chinook, Chehalis, and Quinault stories along the lower Columbia. Benevolent but foolish, he stumbles through adventures with slapstick results, visiting the land of the dead in the tale of Blue Jay and Ioi, finding a wife, and helping recover the stolen sun. His bungling often sets things right by accident.
