Boggart

goblin · England · Northern Europe

The boggart is a mischievous and often malevolent household spirit of northern English folklore, especially Lancashire and Yorkshire, that hides objects, spoils food, and makes night noises to torment a family. Tied to a house rather than a person, it is hard to drive away; flaxseed scattering or moving house may fail, as the boggart can follow.
