Bon Bibi
Bon Bibi (Bonobibi), 'Lady of the Forest,' is the guardian goddess of the Sundarbans mangrove delta between Bangladesh and India, worshipped by Hindu and Muslim honey collectors, woodcutters, and fishermen. Legend holds that Allah sent her to protect the faithful from Dakshin Ray, the demon king who demanded sacrifices; she defeated him and won a truce, guarding all who enter with respect.
