Boqs Cannibal Giant Nuxalk
Boqs is the wild man of the woods in Bella Coola (Nuxalk), Chinook, and Salish tradition, a shaggy forest being of great strength. In Nuxalk and northern Salish versions he is a malevolent cannibal who may harm or abduct people, while some Chinook stories treat him more lightly as a strong but foolish wild man. Popular writing sometimes equates him with the Sasquatch.
