Bori (Iskoki)
Bori (also Iskoki) are spirit beings from Hausa animism, particularly strong among the Mawri people of Dogondoutchi in Niger and the Maguzawa of northern Nigeria. According to Mawri creation mythology, God created a man and woman who bore fifty sets of twins. When God asked to see the children, the woman hid the better-looking twin of each set in a cave. God cursed the hidden children to become spirits in the unseen world, forever invisible yet dependent on their human siblings for sustenance.
