Br'er Bear
Br'er Bear is a figure of African American folktale, one of the animal characters of the Uncle Remus cycle set down by Joel Chandler Harris from stories carried from West Africa. Slow-witted and gullible, he is strong but easily led, and both Br'er Rabbit and Br'er Fox trick him; he embodies brute strength without cunning.
