Bruxa
The Bruxa is a witch or sorceress from Galician folklore in northwestern Spain and northern Portugal, embodying both healing and harmful magical traditions. The term Bruxa encompasses a complex figure that can be either a benevolent healer known for herbal remedies and midwifery or a malevolent practitioner of black magic who curses enemies and steals children. This dual nature reflects the ambivalent position of wise women and folk healers in Galician rural society, where they were both respected for their knowledge and feared for their potential to cause harm
