Bu Draeyah
Bu Draeyah is a giant sea serpent of Qatari legend, deep blue of scale with glowing golden eyes, who guards the pearl beds of the Persian Gulf. He is a water spirit of harsh judgement: generous to honest divers, destructive to the greedy who strip his reefs. Sacred chants are said to soothe him, and his name is still spoken in pearl-diving households.
