Buda
Buda (Ge'ez: ቡዳ) is the Eritrean-Ethiopian belief in the evil eye wielded by hereditary social groups, often metalworkers, potters, and tanners, who harm others through their gaze and are said to shapeshift into hyenas at night. Protective amulets (kitab), holy water, and invocations of God's name ward off its effects.
