Bulgasari

hybrid · North Korea · East Asia and Pacific

Bulgasari is the iron-eating monster of Korean folklore, blending elephant, bear, and tiger traits with iron skin and ember eyes. It devours metal to grow ever larger, destroying weapons and armor, and can be controlled by whoever knows its secret name. A symbol of insatiable destruction and growth, it inspired the 1985 North Korean film Pulgasari.
