Bysen
The Bysen is a Gotland-specific forest gnome condemned to wander for moving boundary markers. He carries an axe, appears as a grey little man or a stump, and wears a red cap. He misleads travelers, delays timber transports, and tips loads. Turning one's garment inside out breaks his enchantment. Mainland Sweden has the similar skälvrängare (unholy land-surveyor).
