Cŵn Annwn
The Cŵn Annwn ('Hounds of Annwn') are spectral hounds of the Welsh Otherworld (Annwn), white or coal-black with glowing red/green eyes and distinctive red ears. They hunt in packs led by Arawn (king of Annwn) or later Gwyn ap Nudd, chasing souls of the wicked and unshriven, especially at Samhain. Their baying grows louder as they approach.
