Čáhcerávga
Čáhcerávga (Water Wraith) is a fictional creature in Sami folklore, explicitly known to be invented to scare children away from dangerous waters. Unlike the Rávga, which was believed to be a real undead spirit, the Čáhcerávga was recognized as a pedagogical tool. It was described as a long-necked, scary creature that could carry a child away if they went too close to the water. It was said to appear in all bodies of water where children were not supposed to go — lakes, rivers, ponds, and even wells. This belief shows how Sami folklore functioned as practical safety education in the Arctic land
