Caipora
Caipora is a powerful forest spirit from Brazilian folklore, considered the guardian of wildlife and game animals throughout the vast Amazon rainforest and beyond. The name comes from the Tupi language, meaning 'inhabitant of the forest,' and this entity is deeply embedded in the indigenous Tupi-Guarani mythological tradition. The Caipora is variously depicted as male or female, dwarf or giant, and is known to be both a protector of animals and a punisher of hunters who violate traditional hunting codes. It is closely related to the Curupira, another forest guardian, and the two are sometimes
