Cannibal Giants
Cannibal giants are man-eating monsters of the oral traditions of Algonquian and Athabaskan peoples of Canada's Subarctic and northern woodlands — known as wihtikow (windigo) among Cree, Ojibwe, and related nations. Frozen, famine-driven giants born of isolation and starvation, they embody the dangers of the deep winter bush; related beings include the Mi'kmaq chenoo.
