Cerberus, often called the Hound of Hades, is the most fearsome canine in Greek mythology, serving as the guardian of the underworld's gates to prevent the dead from escaping and the living from entering without permission. Born from the union of the monsters Echidna and Typhon, Cerberus is sibling to other multi-headed terrors including the Lernaean Hydra, Orthrus, and the Chimera.
