Changing Woman (Asdzą́ą́ Nádleehé), also called White Shell Woman, is the central deity of Navajo religion. Born from the darkness, she lives in the west beside the ocean, aging and renewing herself with the seasons, and she bore the Hero Twins, Monster Slayer and Child of the Water, fathered by the Sun. She gave the Navajo their clans and the Blessingway ceremonies.
