Cherruves
Cherufe is a being of Mapuche tradition said to dwell in the lava pools of southern Chilean volcanoes, a creature of molten rock and sharp crystals with a man-eater's appetite. Its stirrings are blamed for eruptions and earthquakes, and communities historically offered sacrifices to appease it. The input mislabels it a water serpent; it belongs to volcanic fire, not to lakes and rivers.
