Cholula

giant · Mexico · Mesoamerica

Not independently attested in folklore literature. 'Cholula' is the name of a city in Puebla, Mexico, not a folkloric being. The giant tradition attached to its great pyramid belongs to Xelhua, a Nahua survivor of the Fourth-Sun flood who climbed Mount Tlaloc and, in early colonial accounts, raised the pyramid of Tlachihualtepetl.
