Chukfi (Rabbit)
Chukfi (Chokfi), the Rabbit, is the trickster of the Chickasaw people. Clever, mischievous, and sometimes selfish, he uses his wits to outsmart larger animals and to explain how things came to be; stories tell why Rabbit has a short tail, why the possum's tail is bare, and how deer gained their antlers.
