Chura-Batyr
Chura-Batyr is the epic hero of the Tatar people, rooted in the historical figure Chura Narykov of the sixteenth-century Kazan Khanate. Tales present him as a defender of the Tatar lands, a warrior of great strength and loyalty whose downfall through betrayal became a byword for resistance and lament in Tatar oral tradition.
