Corn Mother (also known as Iatiku among the Acoma) is the central female deity in Pueblo mythology who gave corn to the people. After emergence into the light, when people had no food, Corn Mother scraped her skin and from the scrapings produced corn of all colors — white, yellow, blue, red, and black.
