Not independently attested in folklore literature. No cougar deity is recorded in Maliseet (Wolastoqiyik) tradition, and cougars were not established in Wabanaki territory. The Maliseet culture hero is Koluskap (Glooscap), the transformer of Wabanaki myth; the cougar sky-guardian role described is fabricated.
