Cougar Giant of Shoshone
In Shoshone oral tradition, the legend 'The Wolf, the Fox, the Bobcat and the Cougar' recounts how four animal spirits helped the Shoshone-Bannock defeat the Nimerigar, warlike little people of the Rocky Mountains who shot poisoned arrows. The cougar here is a heroic spirit ally, not a giant or mountain guardian.
