Cougar Guardian of Creek
In Creek (Muscogee) tradition the panther is honored through the Panther Clan, Katsalgi, one of the principal matrilineal clans of the Creek Confederacy. Panther hunting medicine was highly regarded, and among the related Seminole the Panther clan is the premier medicinal clan.
