Coyote Animal-Spirit of Kwakiutl
Not independently attested among the Kwakwaka'wakw (Kwakiutl). Coyote is absent from Kwakwaka'wakw tradition — the coastal peoples of the Northwest Coast cast Raven, Mink and other sea-going tricksters, while coyote belongs to Plateau and Plains lore. No Kwakwaka'wakw coyote spirit is documented in the Boas collections.
